PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. A small sample of your blood is taken and processed so the platelet-rich portion can be used in a skin treatment. It is sometimes discussed in relation to skin texture and the appearance of ageing, but outcomes differ from person to person and it is not a substitute for a medical assessment.

Our menu lists PRP as a separate appointment. It also lists a Vampire Facial, which combines microneedling with PRP. These are related but distinct appointments with different prices and timings. Your doctor can explain the differences and help you decide whether either approach fits your skin concerns and tolerance for recovery.

People ask about PRP for dull-looking skin, uneven texture, or as part of a wider discussion about skin rejuvenation. Some are interested in a course rather than a one-off session; others simply want to understand what the procedure involves before making a decision. There is no need to arrive with a set number of sessions in mind.

Suitability depends on your health, skin and expectations. Your doctor will ask about medical conditions, medication and previous skin procedures, then consider whether PRP is appropriate. If you are hoping for an instant transformation or have an important event immediately after the appointment, we will talk through more realistic timing and alternatives.

The current menu allows 60 minutes for PRP and 75 minutes for the Vampire Facial. These are appointment lengths, not guarantees about what any individual visit will involve. We will discuss comfort, possible side effects and whether a course is sensible for you. If you choose to proceed, your plan is based on your assessment rather than a fixed package.

PRP is generally discussed as a gradual skin-quality treatment rather than an immediate change in facial shape. What you notice, and when, depends on your starting point and the treatment plan. It is reasonable to ask your doctor how progress will be assessed rather than expecting a single photograph or timeframe to tell the whole story.

Our existing FAQ notes that a course of three sessions around four weeks apart is often discussed for PRP, but the number and spacing are individual decisions. A consultation should set expectations about possible changes, the limits of treatment and whether another option may be more suitable. Results vary and suitability is confirmed at consultation.

Temporary redness and sensitivity can follow a PRP facial, particularly when microneedling forms part of the appointment. Our existing PRP treatment notes mention mild redness lasting around 12–24 hours, but your recovery may differ. Your doctor will give treatment-specific aftercare and explain what should prompt you to get in touch.

Avoid planning a major occasion for immediately after treatment. The clinic's general advice is to avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours, unless your clinician gives different guidance. Ask before applying active skincare or make-up over treated skin, and follow the instructions you are given. If you are considering a series of visits, talk about the time and recovery commitment in advance.
